Dan Robidoux

"This is where a biography goes that talks about how I made friends with a mountain lion and learned piano from a Tibetan monk and a ghost."

Dan is an Ottawa-based singer-songwriter who has never been one for self-aggrandizement. He grew up in a military family, moving around the country a few times and winding up in Ottawa for post-secondary education. Double majoring at Carleton University in music and psychology, his songs explore issues in mental health, addiction, and human nature, drawing from both academia and personal experience.

Dan has performed regularly in Ottawa and Toronto both with his own band and with Malak Sound, appearing on Global and Rogers TV. He has performed at numerous music festivals including RBC Bluesfest, Westfest, Festival Folk et Guitarre d’Aylmer and others. Dan has played showcases including Megaphono and Canadian Music Week. Currently he is also collaborating with award-winning singer-songwriter Emma Lamontagne.

Dan’s debut album, Take It Slow, was released in the summer of 2018.
